What Should You Know About Profile Screening?
Employers in Bangladesh are required to follow a precise procedure while performing an employee background check.
Only the top candidates are typically hired for senior-level roles because most businesses have strong background check requirements.
In Bangladesh, a basic background check on an employee includes:
1. Employment background
All employees must have their prior employment verified. According to certain research, more than 40% of applications and resumes contain false information.
Employers should take into account pertinent information while hiring, such as the name of the applicant’s prior company, their position, their length of service, their eligibility for rehiring, etc.
2. Knowledge of history
Potential employees’ educational backgrounds should be confirmed by employers. Essentials like name, date of birth, list of universities attended, degrees earned, attendance rate, city of education, etc. must be mentioned and verified by applicants.
3. Crime histories
Bangladeshi law demands certain documents, such as proof of residency, the identity of a guardian, and the dates of release (if any). The assigned city’s local level court serves as its primary venue.
This search looks for felony-level convictions for a candidate in the previous seven years, taking into account important information including the file date, location, case number, charge(s), disposition details, and sentence length.
4. Credit history
The Bangladesh Credit Report typically involves experienced agents searching for inaccurate or unfavorable credit information. The final report highlights bankruptcy filings, court verdicts, past-due loans, and other financial issues.
5. Social media
Employers can analyze a candidate’s social media history to determine their online behavior, intentions, and activities. It entails monitoring online communities and social networks like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
